                                                           Special Use of School Buses

 

 

The board may authorize such other use of the district’s buses as is allowed under state law, Oregon Department of Education regulations, and board policies.

 

Activity Trips:

 

Student body buses shall be provided by the district for activity trips subject to the following rules:

 

1.             Upon request, subject to availability of buses;

 

2.             Rate per person shall be determined by the transportation supervisor, which shall cover all district costs;

 

3.             The transportation supervisor shall be notified at least five (5) working days in advance of the time of proposed departure for the activity;

 

4.             No student shall be permitted to go on an excursion without written permission from his or her parents.  The principal or designee shall be responsible to check permission slips;

 

5.             Adequate chaperons shall accompany students on the bus;

 

6.             After returning to the school, chaperons must stay until the last student has been picked up and/or accounted for;

 

7.             Students riding to the activity on the bus must come back on the bus unless parental permission has been certified in writing with the building principal or chaperon or designee;

 

8.             Persons riding activity buses are subject to all state and district bus rules and regulations;

 

9.             When space is available, adults may ride the activity buses with approval of the building principal.
