Superintendent’s Consulting Activities
The board expects the superintendent to devote full attention and energy to the concerns of the district. The superintendent shall not be engaged in any other employment nor in long-term consulting assignments. The board, however, recognizes the superintendent’s obligation to contribute to the profession of school administration and to the field of public education in general. This policy, therefor, does not prohibit the superintendent from undertaking occasional consulting work that does not conflict with obligations to the district. Any such task that requires the superintendent’s absence for two (2) or more consecutive working days must have prior approval of the chair, with appropriate notice to the entire board.
