District 116
Adopted: 11/23/87
Revised/Readopted: 7/10/02
Grants from Private Sources and/or Trusts
Grant proposals for
external funds from private sources shall be submitted to the board for
evaluation and approval.
In the event an opportunity arises to submit
a grant proposal and there is insufficient time to place it before the board,
the superintendent is authorized to use his or her judgment in approving it for
submission. The superintendent shall
review the grant proposal with the board at its next regular board
meeting. The board reserves the right
to reject funds associated with any grant which has been approved.
The board may accept money or property
donated for the use or benefit of the district and use such money or property
for the purpose for which it was donated, for a period of three (3) years,
after which time the district may exercise the option of declaring the most
appropriate use of such property. Such
acceptance and use must be consistent with the laws of this state.
Procedures for expenditures of trust fund
moneys shall be the same as the procedures for regular district budget
purchasing. If the board receives trust
fund moneys, an appropriation resolution shall be enacted prior to fund expenditure.
