News for the 2008-09 School Year
The district is pleased to welcome Graden
Blue as the new Douglas High School Principal and David Welker as the new
Winston Middle School Principal The district is making progress on its agenda to improve district
maintenance with major roofing repairs scheduled for McGovern, Lookingglass and Douglas High. You will also see major portions of
building interiors repainted and progress made on Douglas High athletic
fields. We have made strong instructional progress with our curriculum
mapping and pacing guides which have contributed to improved school
performance. We anticipate significant future improvement to district electronic
communications and connectivity with the installation of new district fiber
optic lines and new district servers.
I would like to acknowledge
the hard work of students, parents, teachers, principals and community
stakeholders in this success and improvement. Our challenge will be to
increase the percentage of students meeting all of the content standards and
