How to Apply to be a Substitute

 

 

 

 

For certificated substitute teacher, nurse, librarian, counselor, or princiapl:

Applicants must complete an Application for Certificated Employment and hold a valid teaching certificate for the state of Oregon: Standard,  administrator or Substitute.

For emergency substitute teacher:

Applicants must complete an Application for Emergency Substitute and be eligible to obtain a Oregon State Emergency Substitute certificate.

For bus driver, custodian, para-educator, secretary, or security substitute.

Applicants must complete an Application for Classified Employment. Although requirements vary by position, substitutes typically require a high school diploma or GED equivalent and related experience. Licenses, special skills and advanced education may be required for certain jobs.

For food service substitute.

Applicants must complete an Application for Food Service Employment. 

Applications for substitute work in any of the above job groups are available in the District Administration Building, 165 Dyke Road. The Office is open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (541) 679-3000. Applications for certificated substitute teaching are also available online at www.wdsd.org/jobs/statewide.pdf

Upon receipt, applications are processed for references, screening and testing, if applicable. Applicants eligible for further consideration and/or interview are contacted by the District.
