At Start-up (Holding the following keys down) Shift - Disables the loading of extensions Command-Option - Rebuilds the desktop file Command-Option-Shift-Delete - Stops the Mac Mounting SCSI ID 0 (usually the internal hard drive) Command-Option-P-R - Zaps Parameter RAM (Works with System 7.0 and above) Mouse Button - Ejects any floppy disk from the floppy drive At any time Command-. (full stop) - Should cancel any operation Command-Ctrl-'Power up Key' - will reset the computer (works on most Macintoshes) Command-Option-Esc - Forces a quit of the currently running program Command-Shift-Option - The Select 'Control panel'- Zaps PRAM under System 6.x Command-Shift-0 (Zero) - Puts a PowerBook to sleep (works on powerbooks after the 190) Command-Shift-3 - Takes a snapshot of the screen Command-Shift-K - Forces a clean install from the System 7.5 installer's main screen. Command - Power-up-key - Places Mac into debugger mode then type G and hit RETURN ( DO NOT type anything else) Option-Drag - Duplicates the item you are dragging to location Command-1 - Eject internal Floppy disc Command-2 - Eject external Floppy disc (if fitted) Command-Option-TAB - Automatically format a floppy disc when it is inserted Force Quit: Command / Option / ESC Use this feature with extreme caution. You should definitely not rely on this as a usual way to quit an application. It is useful in the event that you have unsaved work in other applications when your current application freezes up. By using this feature, you can return to the Finder and save the work in your other applications. Use only in the event of a freeze up and after you have tried Force Quit.
